Lead Physician

Responsibilities

• Provide direct primary care to students, including assessment, testing, diagnosis, treatment, and referrals
• Perform minor surgical procedures and document care in electronic health records using proper coding
• Serve as the acting clinical lead in the absence of the Medical Director, overseeing clinical decision-making and staff coordination
• Support the Medical Director with clinical and administrative functions to optimize quality, efficiency, and access
• Contribute to medical quality improvement efforts, including peer review, credentialing, and policy updates
• Support compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, such as Joint Commission or AAAHC

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree
• Three years of clinical medical experience
• Unencumbered Louisiana MD or DO License
• ABMS Board Certification in Primary Care or Emergency Medicine
• Current DEA and CDS Certificates
• Experience with nationally recognized accreditation standards and healthcare process improvement

Preferred Qualifications

• Five years of clinical medical experience
• Experience working in a college health setting
• Experience supervising and evaluating other clinicians
