Lead Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide integrated support to patients and pharmacists through custom medication management services
• Work alongside hospital clinicians to serve patients face-to-face and via telephone
• Educate prospective pharmacy patients on available services and care improvements
• Support outpatient retail and specialty prescription medication needs
• Ensure medication adherence through outbound therapy check-ups and securing refill prescriptions
• Resolve insurance-related issues including prior authorizations and financial assistance
• Manage, organize, and update relevant data using database applications
• Identify medications requiring special storage such as hazardous or refrigerated items
• Perform refill reminder calls under pharmacist supervision

Requirements

• NC state pharmacy technician registration
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

• National certification (PTCB and/or NHA)
• 3-5 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Knowledge of diabetes, transplant, hepatitis C, infectious disease, or oncology
