About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end strategy and execution of payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate salary disbursements for over 30,000 employees.
- Manage external payroll partners and establish robust governance mechanisms to ensure adherence to service levels and internal checks.
- Ensure full regulatory compliance with Indian payroll processes, tax laws, and statutory dues.
- Oversee statutory and tax audits by providing necessary evidence and maintaining organized documentation.
- Manage the team to ensure accurate payroll validation, salary advances, and high-volume exit management (Full & Final settlements).
- Administer employee benefits and retirals, including Provident Fund, NPS, Gratuity, and insurance.
- Drive process improvements and standardization by establishing SOPs and enhancing system efficiencies.
- Oversee year-end activities, including tax proof submissions and Form-16 generation.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Human Resources, Labour Laws, or a related field.
- 7 to 8 years of experience in payroll and benefits management.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in a managerial role within a large organization.
- Thorough understanding of Indian payroll processes, tax laws, and compliance regulations.
- Proven experience handling statutory and tax audits.
- High level of proficiency in MS Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing payroll for multiple legal entities.
- Knowledge of US payroll processes.
- Experience managing payroll for high-churn workforces.
