Lead Operator

Responsibilities

• Organize resources to meet production schedules, quality, cost, and safety objectives
• Ensure efficient operation of assigned production lines, including starting/stopping lines and correcting jams
• Monitor products for compliance with quality standards and perform in-process/finished product quality checks
• Operate Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems and perform verification activities such as weights, torques, and AQL checks
• Maintain inventory control of packaging materials, including auditing received materials and reconciling post-production
• Obtain samples for QC testing and stability
• Determine the need for QA holds and issue re-inspection or rework orders as directed
• Maintain packaging area housekeeping standards and manage various forms and logs
• Assist in training temporary and new employees to build a highly skilled crew
• Perform duties of Lead Operator Trainee, Line Operator I and II, and Material Handler as necessary

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 10 to 12 years of related experience
• Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) operation
• Experience with packaging equipment operation
• Strong understanding of inventory control
