Lead Operational Risk Officer

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor risk-based programs to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks from internal processes, people, systems, or external events
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems, and internal controls
• Analyze complex business and system changes to determine impact and participate in the development of risk ratings
• Provide operational risk expertise and consulting to complex business units for high-risk initiatives
• Design and develop complex testing strategies, methodologies, and analyses
• Consult with business units to develop corrective action plans and manage change effectively
• Report findings and develop business cases to influence executive management regarding the need for risk mitigation controls
• Lead project or virtual teams and mentor less experienced staff

Requirements

• 5+ years of Operational Risk experience
• Expertise in Risk & Compliance and operational risk management
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large, complex datasets
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and familiarity with AI tools
• Knowledge of RCSA (Risk Control Self-Assessment) processes
• Experience with ORE (Operational Risk Event) and ERID (Enterprise Risk Identification) assessment processes
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shift timings of 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry certifications such as CPA, CIA, or CA
• Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools
• Knowledge of US Banking Enterprise Functions and Risk Appetite Metric programs
• Experience with SHRP and other risk systems
