Lead (Node.js and API)

Responsibilities

• Design and build domain-driven, event-aware microservices using Node.js and TypeScript (Express, Fastify, or NestJS).
• Architect greenfield systems including service boundaries, data models, REST APIs, and event streams.
• Set and maintain API standards for versioning, OpenAPI/Swagger, and resiliency patterns.
• Own production readiness by managing SLOs, dashboards, alerting, and leading incident triage and RCAs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (web, mobile, data, security, ops) to sequence dependencies and land releases.
• Lead by example through hands-on coding (approximately 70% of the time), code reviews, and mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience and 3+ years of technical leadership on product teams.
• Expert-level proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Deep expertise in Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and event-driven architectures.
• Proven experience designing secure, resilient public APIs using OAuth2, OIDC, and JWT.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, cloud-native deployment, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of observability tools (metrics, traces, logs) and production incident response.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the telecom industry (ordering, provisioning, billing, or identity).
• Familiarity with API gateways such as Apigee or Kong.
• Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and cloud cost optimization.
