About the role

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a shift of NDT technicians performing critical inspections on components for the SPARC project
  • Conduct in-process inspections of weldments and soldered structures using radiography (X-ray), visual, and penetrant techniques
  • Prepare and document detailed inspection reports and nonconformances
  • Analyze and interpret NDT requirements for austenitic steels, copper, titanium, and other alloys
  • Review and approve inspection and material test reports from vendors
  • Support ISO 9001:2015 activities on the shop floor
  • Review blueprints and documentation to ensure material and specification compliance
  • Interface with technicians to help interpret quality specifications and technical drawings

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • NDT Level II certification (RT, PT, VT)
  • 5+ years of experience inspecting welds, braze, or solder joints
  • 40-hour radiation safety training and a valid MA radiation safety card
  • Experience in aerospace, nuclear, power, or petrochemical industries
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical activities including standing, stooping, and climbing
  • Dedication to safety in environments involving heat, noise, high voltage, and cryogenics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Dimensional inspection experience
  • Additional NDT certifications
  • Experience using digital X-ray equipment and software (CR, DR)
