Lead Miner

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of yourself and those around you
• Understand and sign up for every RAM and SOS Briefing
• Hold and maintain correct qualifications for the role
• Report any near misses, incidents, or accidents to the JGL Supervisor
• Maintain a neat and tidy work area through regular housekeeping
• Enforce H&S policies to create a safe workplace
• Use mobile phones in designated areas only
• Ensure team members wear appropriate PPE, including hard hats and safety glasses
• Use, store, and dispose of COSHH materials correctly
• Operate only authorized and trained plant or equipment
• Respect exclusion zones and keep tools and plant in safe places
• Report damaged or worn plant to the Lead Miner
• Clean all plant and tools at the end of the shift
• Minimize manual handling through mechanical means where possible
• Stack materials in designated areas without obstructing escape routes
• Ensure lifting operations are performed by approved persons
• Verify all permits are in place before commencing work
