Lead Medical Lab Scientist - Immunology

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and administrative oversight for immunology laboratory workflows and personnel
• Assist in performing assay validations, instrument correlations, and calibrations
• Collect and interpret data for new testing protocols or quality control materials
• Perform IT validations on new or updated testing systems according to protocol
• Assist department coordinators or managers with regulatory compliance and inspection readiness
• Review and update department documentation, procedures, and proficiency testing
• Manage pre-analytic, analytical, and post-analytic workflows to ensure accurate and timely results
• Perform high-complexity testing and maintain test system integrity
• Conduct quality control (QC) evaluations, including new lot number assessments and Westgard rule applications
• Troubleshoot instrument issues and perform advanced repairs or coordinate field service
• Train and peer coach staff on technical tasks and troubleshooting

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, or an Allied Health field qualifying for the ASCP exam
• ASCP certification (MLS) or equivalent certification required within 1 year of hire
• 2 years of clinical laboratory experience in a TJC or CAP accredited laboratory
