Lead Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Configure vehicles according to customer specifications and mission requirements
• Develop and update chassis drawings and technical documentation
• Ensure geometric integration between various systems and components
• Perform detailed analyses regarding geometry, weight, and dimensions
• Develop technically balanced solutions based on project constraints
• Contribute to the development of vehicle architecture and long-term technical solutions
• Collaborate with internal functions and external suppliers
• Drive improvements in processes, methods, and engineering tools
• Support and share knowledge with colleagues and team members

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in vehicle development or a related field
• Extensive expertise in heavy vehicles, trucks, or special vehicles
• Proven experience in vehicle integration, packaging, and chassis construction
• Proficiency in CAD tools
• Experience with Volvo KOLA systems and associated development environments
• Master's degree in Engineering or a relevant field
• Fluency in both Swedish and English (written and spoken)
• Ability to work independently and drive technical decision-making

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within the defense industry
• Previous work in vehicle architecture or systems engineering
• Experience leading technical activities or mentoring junior engineers
• Knowledge of product development processes within large industrial companies
