Lead Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and program support across the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements definition to design optimization
• Lead the generation of Technical Data Package components, including part and assembly drawings
• Prototype, integrate, and test component parts and assemblies, including the development of test plans and procedures
• Participate in critical design reviews such as PDRs and CDRs, as well as product change review meetings
• Direct designers, technicians, and other engineers as part of a multidisciplinary design team
• Support field testing and demonstration efforts as a mechanical engineering field representative
• Perform test and evaluation of component parts and systems to ensure mission success

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with 9+ years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with 7+ years of experience
• 13+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance (or active within the last two years)
• Favorable polygraph required

Preferred Qualifications

• Subject matter expertise in mechanical design or ocean/marine engineering
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as Creo and understanding of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards
• Experience with underwater robotics, acoustics, or offshore structures
• Knowledge of pressure vessel design, subsea compensators, and hydraulic control design
• Experience with additive manufacturing and design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA)
• Familiarity with managing weight and trim on ROVs, AUVs, or UUVs
