Lead, Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for the Mechanical Engineering team throughout the full program lifecycle, including design, development, and manufacturing.
• Oversee mechanical design, procurement support, environmental testing, and production support for Seabed Systems product lines.
• Participate in major design and milestone reviews, technical meetings, and project planning sessions.
• Develop mechanical technical approaches for future proposals and participate in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) initiatives.
• Ensure programs are smoothly transitioned from design to production and deployment phases.
• Provide inputs to EVMS reporting regarding monthly progress and estimates to completion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience/education as specified).
• Proven experience leading a Mechanical Design team.
• Expertise in electronics packaging for harsh marine environments.
• Proficiency with Solidworks and PDM Vault.
• Experience with undersea acoustics or sonar equipment.
• Experience with DFx (Design for Simplicity, Manufacturability, Testability, etc.).
• Experience working with government contracts, requirements, and compliance.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Ansys.
• Familiarity using Jira for engineering metrics.
