About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for the Mechanical Engineering team throughout the full program lifecycle, including design, development, and manufacturing.
- Oversee mechanical design, procurement support, environmental testing, and production support for Seabed Systems product lines.
- Participate in major design and milestone reviews, technical meetings, and project planning sessions.
- Develop mechanical technical approaches for future proposals and participate in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) initiatives.
- Ensure programs are smoothly transitioned from design to production and deployment phases.
- Provide inputs to EVMS reporting regarding monthly progress and estimates to completion.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience/education as specified).
- Proven experience leading a Mechanical Design team.
- Expertise in electronics packaging for harsh marine environments.
- Proficiency with Solidworks and PDM Vault.
- Experience with undersea acoustics or sonar equipment.
- Experience with DFx (Design for Simplicity, Manufacturability, Testability, etc.).
- Experience working with government contracts, requirements, and compliance.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Ansys.
- Familiarity using Jira for engineering metrics.
