About the role

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical lead for the design and development of nuclear-qualified mechanical components and systems
  • Perform calculations and apply ASME Code to the design and analysis of qualified nuclear sensors and instrumentation
  • Lead multi-disciplined engineering teams and collaborate with clients and project managers
  • Develop high-standard design deliverables, including detailed design documents, manufacturing BOMs, and procedures
  • Manage technical issue resolutions and implement necessary change controls
  • Partner with Sales to develop commercial proposals, cost estimates, and define project scopes
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and team members

Requirements

  • 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Extensive experience with ASME Section III, Divisions 1 & 5
  • Advanced proficiency in SOLIDWORKS Premium and Simulation Premium
  • Knowledge of Nuclear quality regulations (e.g., 10CFR50, NQA-1, 10CFR Part 21) and Commercial Grade Dedication (CDG) principles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ASME Section IX Welding
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent competency per ASME Section IX
