Lead Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical engineering designs, plans, method statements, and construction procedures
• Verify construction work aligns with approved design specifications and witness site tests
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with design, industry standards, and safety regulations
• Oversee quality control and assurance for mechanical construction and commissioning
• Identify and address construction issues, conflicts, and discrepancies
• Manage project schedules and identify potential delays or risks
• Evaluate site progress, including progress payments, change orders, and claims
• Review commissioning and O&M manuals submitted by the Contractor
• Oversee mechanical aspects of project closeout and facilitate handover to the owner

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
• Proven experience as a lead mechanical engineer in large-scale construction projects
• Experience in the energy or power industry preferred
• In-depth knowledge of local and international design codes and standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
