About the role
Responsibilities
- Safely inspect, maintain, and repair company-owned or leased vehicles and heavy equipment
- Provide daily functional direction to the mechanics team
- Perform routine maintenance and diagnose operational difficulties with diesel, gas, and electric equipment
- Maintain accurate vehicle maintenance records and complete work orders and administrative duties
- Schedule and complete preventive maintenance in compliance with state, federal, and corporate guidelines
- Review D.V.I.R. reports and perform necessary repairs
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop facility
- Assume leadership and supervisory roles in the absence of the Manager or Supervisor
- Stay updated on latest technologies through technical manuals and training seminars
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- DOT certification for air brake inspection and adjustment and annual vehicle inspections
- Two years of practical experience in heavy truck repair
- Ability to meet safety-sensitive function criteria according to company standards
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds and perform frequent physical labor
