Lead Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Safely inspect, maintain, and repair company-owned or leased vehicles and heavy equipment
• Provide daily functional direction to the mechanics team
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnose operational difficulties with diesel, gas, and electric equipment
• Maintain accurate vehicle maintenance records and complete work orders and administrative duties
• Schedule and complete preventive maintenance in compliance with state, federal, and corporate guidelines
• Review D.V.I.R. reports and perform necessary repairs
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop facility
• Assume leadership and supervisory roles in the absence of the Manager or Supervisor
• Stay updated on latest technologies through technical manuals and training seminars

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• DOT certification for air brake inspection and adjustment and annual vehicle inspections
• Two years of practical experience in heavy truck repair
• Ability to meet safety-sensitive function criteria according to company standards
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds and perform frequent physical labor
