Lead Machine Learning Scientist

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership as an individual contributor to design and develop advanced real-time Machine Learning models.
• Lead the development and deployment of ML models to detect suspicious user behaviors and financial crime trends.
• Explore and implement cutting-edge architectures, including neural networks, graph-based, and sequence-based models.
• Partner with cross-functional squads, including product managers, backend engineers, and MLOps, to ship impactful solutions.
• Mentor other team members and drive up technical standards and best practices across the Machine Learning discipline.
• Identify and scope high-impact opportunities to tackle fraud and financial crime using data-driven strategies.

Requirements

• A proven track record of leading the development and deployment of advanced Machine Learning models to solve real business problems.
• Extensive experience developing and shipping deep learning, graph-based, or sequence-based ML architectures to production.
• Proficiency in writing production-grade Python code and a strong command of SQL.
• Experience working with large-scale datasets and modern cloud-native data platforms.
• A self-starter mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive projects from conception to measurable production impact.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex ML concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within financial crime or regulated financial institutions.
• Commercial experience writing critical production code and working within microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with Go lang.
