Lead Machine Learning Engineer

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for complex ML projects and guide team priorities
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable ML and software systems
• Define project problems, develop roadmaps, and oversee delivery in high-risk environments
• Drive the development of shared resources and libraries across the organisation
• Lead hiring processes and mentor engineers to foster team growth
• Execute recommendations for adopting new technologies and improving workflows
• Act as a technical expert and coach for customers, providing accurate estimations and defending rationale to stakeholders

Requirements

• Strong Python skills
• Practical experience operationalising models using Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
• Expertise in at least one major Cloud Solution Provider (Azure, GCP, or AWS)
• Experience leading teams to build full-stack web applications
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Proven ability to manage and coach a team of engineers
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to find novel solutions for complex project delivery
• Experience managing high-risk, ill-defined technical environments
