About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day execution of food orders and maintain culinary standards
- Assist with team scheduling, inventory management, and order tracking
- Lead kitchen operations and opening/closing procedures when the manager is off-site
- Mentor, train, and verify SOP compliance for Line Cooks and Prep Cooks
- Execute menu items from scratch following recipes and brand standards
- Prepare ingredients for assigned stations with appropriate labeling and dating
- Maintain high standards of sanitation, safety, and ServSafe compliance
- Receive, unpack, and organize inventory according to par levels
Requirements
- 1-2+ years of experience in high-volume kitchen environments (fast-casual, QSR, or from-scratch)
- 1 year of kitchen leadership experience
- Experience with food preparation from scratch, including sauces and basic knife skills
- Proficiency in grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods
- NYC Food Protection Certificate
- Ability to work well under pressure with high attention to detail
