About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the annual cycle of Internal Operational Audits (IOA), managing the end-to-end lifecycle from risk-based planning to reporting.
- Mature the internal audit function by designing and improving audit tools, checklists, and scoring criteria.
- Serve as the designated Super User for the GRC platform, overseeing configuration, data migration, and system integration.
- Act as a "Trainer of Trainers" to support and certify internal auditors and park-level users on the GRC system.
- Integrate audit data into Power BI to provide high-quality analytics and reporting for the FRA Committee and the Board.
- Conduct quarterly compliance audits, including Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) and HR compliance checks.
- Mentor and develop auditors while engaging constructively with park leadership and department heads.
Requirements
- University degree in audit, accounting, finance, risk management, or a related field.
- 7+ years of internal audit experience, including experience in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Proven experience implementing or administering GRC, ERP, or audit management systems.
- Full professional proficiency in both written and spoken English and French.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI and structured data handling.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout Africa.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification such as CIA, CA, ACCA, or CISA.
- Experience working in the conservation, NGO, or international development sectors.
- Proficiency in Portuguese.
- Experience working in resource-constrained or remote operating environments.
