About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and act as the senior technical subject matter expert for instrumentation and control systems in mining and heavy industrial facilities
  • Oversee control philosophy, system architecture, and functional specifications for complex process systems
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure fully integrated project solutions
  • Drive innovation through the application of advanced automation, digitalization, and control technologies
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and quality reviews for project teams
  • Support project execution from initial concept through to commissioning and operational optimization
  • Engage with clients to deliver tailored, high-value engineering solutions that meet operational needs
  • Ensure all deliverables comply with safety, regulatory, and quality standards

Requirements

  • 18+ years of electrical engineering design experience supporting heavy industrial facilities
  • Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related Engineering discipline
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility in Canada
  • Extensive experience leading and delivering I&C engineering within the mining or heavy industrial sectors
  • Strong expertise in PLC, DCS, SCADA systems, and process automation platforms
  • Proven ability to develop control narratives, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and I/O lists
  • Experience with commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational support in industrial environments
  • Strong understanding of safety systems, hazardous area classification, and applicable codes
