Lead Infrastructure Engineer, Network Planning

Responsibilities

• Lead technology and topology strategy by evaluating emerging network technologies and recommending solutions aligned with business, security, and resiliency needs.
• Design and standardize target network topologies (LAN/WAN/DC/Cloud) to optimize performance, scalability, and availability.
• Define requirements for network planning and management tools, translating technical constraints into clear features and acceptance criteria.
• Partner with software engineering teams to prioritize tool roadmaps and ensure effective planning workflows.
• Drive automation and integration across planning, inventory, capacity, and change processes.
• Define and implement network performance metrics and KPIs to establish measurement standards and reporting cadences.
• Build and present business cases, including cost/benefit and ROI analysis, to secure executive alignment for optimization programs.
• Ensure audit, risk, and compliance readiness by maintaining documentation and coordinating with regional carriers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in network planning, infrastructure engineering, or similar roles.
• Deep understanding of network technologies, topologies, and transport protocols.
• Proven experience defining requirements for software tools and collaborating with development teams.
• Experience developing and implementing network performance metrics and KPIs.
• Demonstrated ability to develop business cases and present findings to leadership.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with network automation and orchestration platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud and hybrid network architectures.
• Project management or requirements engineering certification.
