Lead Hygienist

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive preventive and periodontal care including prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing
• Provide hands-on training and onboarding for new hygienists and assistants
• Offer ongoing mentorship and constructive feedback to support clinical growth
• Collaborate with dental assistants to optimize sterilization protocols and room turnover
• Partner with dentists on exams and treatment planning
• Drive hygiene production by identifying opportunities and monitoring performance metrics
• Lead regular hygiene team meetings and champion continuing education
• Manage the Team (Assisted) Hygiene model to maximize efficiency and patient care

Requirements

• Degree from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Current, active hygiene license in New York
• Current Anesthesia/Nitrous license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Proficiency with digital charting, x-rays, and intraoral cameras
• Ability to work a full-time schedule (32–40 hours/week) including Saturdays

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior leadership, mentorship, or training experience in a hygiene setting
