Lead House Parent

Responsibilities

• Live in an assigned cottage to care for and provide for up to eight children
• Teach and lead cottage rules and daily routines
• Provide encouragement, guidance, and counseling to residents
• Participate in educational and recreational activities with the youth
• Ensure all children's physical needs, such as food and shelter, are met
• Help children build self-esteem and gain skills to overcome difficult situations
• Act as a positive role model by demonstrating appropriate behaviors and attitudes

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in child care or a related field is preferred
• Valid driver's license
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

Cal Farley's Boys Ranch is a nonprofit child and family service organization. We provide residential family-style living in a rural setting for boys and girls in need of a safe, home-like environment. This position is based at our main campus in Boys Ranch, Texas.
