Lead Hardware Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute hardware design efforts and board layout from proof of concept through production
• Lead Failure Mode Avoidance (FMEA) to ensure hardware design quality
• Develop and execute validation test plans including EMI/EMC, environmental, thermal, and mechanical testing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, sensor engineers, and embedded software developers
• Support hardware bring-up and testing in collaboration with the infotainment software team

Requirements

• Masters in Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years of hardware design experience
• 3+ years of automotive hardware design experience
• Experience with in-car computing architecture
• Background in Consumer Electronics or Automotive OEMs/suppliers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automotive infotainment hardware product life cycles
• Proficiency with Intel Atom/Xeon or ARM Cortex-M microprocessors
• Experience with VHDL, Verilog, CPLDs, or FPGAs
• Knowledge of wireless protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G, etc.) and automotive protocols (CAN, LIN, UART, Ethernet, USB)
• Experience integrating graphical processors and off-the-shelf components like modems and audio codecs
• Familiarity with automotive quality processes such as A-SPICE and FMEA
