Lead Hand

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety protocols and maintain a hazard-free work environment
• Enforce safe working methods and conduct regular safety audits and warehouse checks
• Motivate, lead, and mentor sorters and package handlers during the sort process
• Coach and train new warehouse associates and support team development
• Manage workflow by setting up sorting layouts and assigning labor as required
• Supervise the scanning and processing of packages, including defective items and returns
• Oversee shipping and receiving tasks, including unloading trailers and verifying freight against manifests
• Manage driver credentials, Bill of Lading (BOL) exchanges, and secure docking
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization

Requirements

• Proven experience in team leadership and mentoring within a warehouse environment
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety protocols and compliance
• Experience in shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations
• Proficiency in data entry and workflow management
• Ability to manage workforce deployment and respond quickly to operational changes
