Lead Hand

Responsibilities

• Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety protocols and maintain a hazard-free work environment
• Lead and motivate sorters, acting as a primary point of reference for the team
• Mentor and coach package handlers and warehouse associates, including training new hires
• Supervise sorting, scanning, and processing of packages, including defective items and returns
• Manage workforce deployment and assign labor as required to maintain workflow
• Oversee shipping and receiving tasks, including unloading trailers and verifying freight against manifests
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and efficient sorting layouts
• Perform data entry and handle driver credentials and Bill of Lading (BOL) exchanges

Requirements

• Proven experience in team leadership and mentoring within a warehouse setting
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety protocols and enforcement
• Experience with sorting, scanning, and package processing operations
• Proficiency in shipping and receiving, including pallet loading/unloading and manifest verification
• Ability to perform data entry and maintain accurate records
• Strong organizational skills to manage warehouse layout and cleanliness
