Lead Hand

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety protocols and maintain a hazard-free work environment
• Enforce safe working methods and conduct regular safety audits and warehouse checks
• Motivate, mentor, and coach sorters and warehouse associates, including training new hires
• Support the supervision of sorting, scanning, and processing of packages and returns
• Manage workforce deployment and assign labor as required to meet operational needs
• Oversee shipping and receiving tasks, including unloading trailers and verifying freight against manifests
• Manage warehouse organization, cleanliness, and sorting layout setup
• Perform data entry and handle driver credentials and Bill of Lading (BOL) exchanges

Requirements

• Proven experience in team leadership or a supervisory role within a warehouse environment
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety compliance and enforcement
• Experience with shipping, receiving, and warehouse organization
• Ability to manage workforce deployment and coordinate team tasks effectively
• Proficiency in data entry and handling logistics documentation
• Ability to respond quickly to operational changes and unforeseen events
