Lead Gas Engineer

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of gas engineers performing servicing, repairs, and installations in social housing
• Ensure all works comply with Gas Safe regulations and Health & Safety legislation
• Plan and allocate daily workloads to meet service level agreements (SLAs)
• Monitor engineer productivity, performance, and quality through audits and inspections
• Provide technical guidance for diagnosing complex faults
• Ensure accurate completion of Landlord Gas Safety Records (LGSR)
• Resolve technical issues and complaints from tenants or clients
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings
• Coordinate with housing associations and internal teams to achieve contract KPIs
• Monitor stock usage, van audits, and materials

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Gas Engineer in social housing or domestic properties
• Previous supervisory or team leader experience in gas maintenance
• Strong knowledge of domestic gas servicing, repairs, and installations
• Deep understanding of Gas Safe regulations and compliance
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with tenants and clients

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid Gas Safe Registration
• ACS Qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, CPA1)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Relevant health & safety training
