Lead Front End Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the React JS / TypeScript frontend architecture for a new dashboard platform
• Define component architecture, state management, API consumption patterns, and design system implementation
• Assess existing codebases with the Manila engineering team to determine reuse or refactor needs
• Establish frontend integration with backend systems, including API/data contracts and data flow
• Ship the first end-to-end features connected to live backend APIs
• Establish engineering standards including code review, story breakdown, and documentation
• Lead and mentor frontend engineers to improve team output
• Operate independently across the stack, managing environments and deployments
• Build working rhythms with product, backend, and cross-functional teams

Requirements

• Frontend-primary engineer with React and Next.js expertise
• 10+ years of engineering experience
• 2+ years in a lead or tech lead role
• Proven ability to drive technical direction
• Experience establishing code review practices and engineering standards
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers
• DevOps knowledge for managing environments, CI/CD, and deployments
• Ability to work independently without heavy support layers (BA, QA, DevOps)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating AI features
• Experience working with offshore teams
• Experience evaluating and extending existing codebases
• SaaS or B2B platform experience
