Lead Fraud Analyst

Responsibilities

• Analyze large datasets to identify fraud trends, patterns, and emerging risks across payment and card portfolios
• Develop and support fraud risk strategies including application fraud, synthetic identity fraud, and account takeover
• Translate complex data into actionable insights to drive fraud prevention strategies
• Partner with Fraud Policy, Operations, Risk, and Technology teams to optimize fraud decision strategies
• Support the testing, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of fraud decision systems
• Create reports and dashboards to measure strategy performance
• Assist with fraud model monitoring, validation, and performance evaluation
• Document analyses and present findings to senior leadership

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in fraud analytics within the payments industry (credit cards, banking, fintech)
• Strong analytical background with large, complex datasets in Big Data environments
• Proficiency with SQL, Python, SAS, Hive, or similar technologies
• Ability to identify fraud patterns, trends, and anomalies from complex data
• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, or a quantitative field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with fraud model monitoring, validation, or performance evaluation
• Familiarity with fraud decision engines and rules-based strategies
• Exposure to risk management or regulatory environments
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
