Lead Forward Deployed Engineer

Prosper is building the most advanced conversational AI agents for healthcare — human-like phone agents that handle the administrative work draining the system. Headquartered in New York with an office in Barcelona, we work with dozens of large and enterprise healthcare organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the FDE team, managing engineers and building a high-trust, high-ownership culture
• Set the technical direction for the FDE area, defining architecture, patterns, and best practices
• Own the FDE process, including scoping client work, prioritization, and incident handling
• Stay hands-on by tackling complex integrations, performance bottlenecks, and live debugging
• Act as the technical face for key clients, translating workflows into agent behavior
• Tune and optimize voice agents, including LLM prompting and conversation logic
• Partner with PMs and Engineering leadership to align the FDE roadmap with product strategy

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with experience leading projects or teams
• Proficiency with FastAPI (Python), PostgreSQL, and React (TypeScript)
• Experience working closely with clients to find creative solutions
• Familiarity with LLMs, AI agents, or ML models
• Ability to balance hands-on IC work with people management and process ownership
• Founder mindset with high ownership and work ethic
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Physics, or a related field
