Lead Flight Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical authority for the Flight Test Engineering pillar across Field Engineering, back-office Engineering, and Data Analyst sub-tracks
• Manage the full test planning methodology, including Test Cards, Instrumentation Plans, Telemetry Stack, and Post-Flight Data Review
• Oversee FRR and TRR processes and the engineering compliance evidence pipeline for DOA
• Serve as the Flight Director equivalent on major flight test campaigns
• Act as the engineering interface for GNC, Autonomy, and Avionics teams
• Lead the engineering career path, including selection, mentoring, and promotion of team members
• Coordinate onsite test operations to ensure clear priorities and a disciplined, safe testing environment

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Aerospace Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in Flight Test
• 2+ years of experience in Team Leadership
• Master's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering
• Demonstrated end-to-end responsibility for a flight test campaign from planning to certification evidence
• Proficiency in German (C1+) and English (C1+)
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Flight Dynamics, Control, or Autonomy
• Experience with loitering munitions or live-warhead campaigns
• Working knowledge of STANAG 4671
• Familiarity with PX4 or ArduPilot codebases
