About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead field engineering operations, including supervising field crews and subcontractor operations
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
- Perform field surveying, work layout support, and compilation of as-built data
- Manage material requirements by performing takeoffs, ordering, and scheduling deliveries
- Execute office engineering tasks such as quantity calculations, technical drafting, and RFI maintenance
- Support estimating efforts through plan reviews, risk assessment, and material takeoffs
- Participate in jobsite safety reviews, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) preparation, and safety training
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of construction field experience
- Proven experience in engineering roles and leading other engineers
- Ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies in engineering plans and contract documents
- Ability to access all points of a construction site in various climates and environments
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on medium or high voltage power projects
- Broad understanding of technical electrical systems
