Lead Field Engineer (Pipe)

Responsibilities

• Lead field engineering operations, including supervising field crews and subcontractor operations
• Interpret drawings and specifications to assist field crews and craft supervision
• Perform quantity calculations, material takeoffs, and basic engineering calculations
• Assist in field surveying, work layout support, and the compilation of as-built data
• Prepare work plans, work packages, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs)
• Manage material deliveries, schedule work groups, and maintain project records such as RFIs and daily reports
• Support estimating efforts by reviewing historical data and performing plan/specification reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years of construction field experience
• Proven experience in engineering roles and leading other engineers
• Ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies in engineering plans and contract documents
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in various climates and access all points of a construction site
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required to meet project deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with utilities or pipe scopes
• Broad understanding of technical electrical systems
