About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on environmental regulations and compliance issues within a fusion technology environment
  • Design and implement environmental management systems, policies, and programs
  • Lead technical aspects of environmental projects, including site investigations, feasibility studies, and design reviews
  • Oversee all permitting processes related to air emissions, water discharges, and hazardous waste
  • Drive ESG performance by collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement sustainability initiatives
  • Manage large-scale environmental projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Interface with regulatory agencies to ensure timely submissions and permit renewals

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in environmental consulting or industrial environmental management
  • Deep understanding of local, state, and federal environmental regulations
  • Strong technical skills in environmental assessments, permitting, and compliance monitoring
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical activities such as climbing or standing for extended periods
  • Willingness to travel or work occasional nights, weekends, or on-call shifts
  • Dedication to safety in an industrial environment involving high voltage, cryogenics, and strong magnets
