About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate salmon habitat recovery efforts across the North Olympic Peninsula (WRIAs 17, 18, and 19)
- Facilitate collaboration between local governments, tribal nations, agencies, landowners, and nonprofits
- Manage grant-funded programs, including monitoring funding, work schedules, and progress reviews
- Represent the North Olympic Lead Entity to political entities, media, and state/federal agencies
- Guide committees in developing habitat restoration project lists under Salmon Recovery Planning Bill guidelines
- Coordinate regional habitat restoration planning and implementation
- Organize and facilitate workshops, field trips, and inter-agency meetings
- Assist in identifying and securing additional funding from public and private sources
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in forestry, geology, hydrology, fish or wildlife management, environmental science, ecology, land use planning, or a related natural resources field
- Five years of professional experience in natural resource management or related communication and advisory roles
- Experience with stakeholder facilitation and partnership building
- Experience with grant management and program oversight
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working directly with tribal nations
- Experience working with volunteer organizations or Boards of Directors
