Lead Engineering Technician - Vacuum Systems

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data to determine failure modes
• Update databases and present test methodology
• Implement lab processes for equipment scheduling, tracking, maintenance, calibration, and repair
• Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities
• Participate in Lab team goals and HOS activities
• Assure compliance with established ETS processes
• Perform leak tests, vacuum system assembly, permeation testing, and production gas testing

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in ultra-high vacuum operations
• Familiarity with vacuum equipment including pumps, valves, and leak detectors
• Ability to identify and diagnose root cause and resolution
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including VBA
• Proactive approach to troubleshooting technical problems
• Must be a U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, or protected status)

Preferred Qualifications

• Vacuum Technology Degree or completion of core Vacuum Courses
• Extensive experience with vacuum test equipment
• Strong hand tool and equipment maintenance skills
• Ability to read and understand electronic schematics and engineering specifications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
