Lead Engineer, Market Data

Responsibilities

• Assess current market data architecture and define target-state architecture
• Lead the design and implementation of a scalable, resilient data platform
• Architect and build robust ETL/ELT pipelines for vendors like Bloomberg, LSEG, and ICE
• Design scalable data models for market and reference data across asset classes
• Implement caching strategies using Redis to support low-latency data access
• Partner with DevOps to manage cloud-native platforms using AWS services
• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, setting technical direction and standards

Requirements

• 10-12+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture
• Proven experience re-architecting data platforms at scale
• Deep expertise in AWS-based data architecture
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow
• Extensive experience in database design and data modeling (relational and columnar)
• Experience with caching technologies such as Redis
• Solid understanding of financial markets and asset classes
• Experience leading engineering teams
• Familiarity with market data vendors (Bloomberg, LSEG, ICE)
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a multi-strategy hedge fund or asset manager
• Familiarity with real-time and streaming architectures like Kafka or Kinesis
• Experience with data governance, lineage, and quality frameworks
• Experience building enterprise-level canonical data platforms
