Lead Engineer

Responsibilities

• Take on the hardest technical problems and ship robust, thoughtful work
• Make critical architectural decisions and implement them through code
• Set high standards for clean, observable, and easy-to-evolve systems
• Mentor other engineers through design conversations and code reviews
• Evolve testing strategies, CI/CD workflows, and infrastructure patterns
• Own the reliability and performance of your domain, including on-call rotations
• Develop deep domain knowledge by engaging directly on farms

Requirements

• Extensive experience shipping complex systems in production
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and lead teams through ambiguity
• Product-focused mindset with a focus on customer experience
• Proficiency in using AI tools to enhance engineering output
• Experience working in cloud environments (AWS preferred)
• Ability to work in an office-first environment in Auckland

Preferred Qualifications

• Frontend/Mobile: React, React Native, and strong UX intuition
• Backend: Node.js, Kotlin, Go, REST APIs, and distributed systems
• Platform: AWS, Terraform, CI/CD, and observability tooling
• Degree in software engineering or equivalent experience
