Lead Engineer

About the Company

Fold Health is building an AI-powered healthcare technology platform designed to support Value-Based Care (VBC) programs. By combining advanced data integration, analytics, and intelligent automation, we help providers, payers, and care teams deliver better outcomes and improve patient experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture discussions for scalable, secure, and resilient systems
• Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and technical guidelines
• Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation
• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end features
• Drive the development of backend microservices, APIs, and frontend applications
• Ensure HIPAA and other healthcare compliance in all technology solutions
• Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies including AI/ML and cloud-native solutions
• Oversee CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code review processes

Requirements

• 10–15 years of hands-on engineering experience
• 3+ years in a lead or architect role
• Strong expertise in Node.js (NestJS), ReactJS, React Native, and TypeScript
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and data pipelines
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as EHR, claims, ADT, and FHIR
• Experience with HIPAA and security best practices in healthcare systems
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python
• Experience with healthcare integrations like Elation, Athena, or eCW
• Familiarity with Twilio, Mailgun, or wearable data APIs
• Exposure to BI/reporting tools like PowerBI or BigQuery
• Prior experience in Value-Based Care (VBC) programs or healthcare startups
