Lead Engineer - Fiber/Microwave Communication

Responsibilities

• Perform enterprise Microwave and Fiber Optic system planning, engineering, and diagnostics
• Design network solutions and device configurations for IP equipment including routers, firewalls, and Ethernet switches
• Lead telecommunication engineering projects from analysis and acquisition through implementation and documentation
• Provide Tier 3 engineering support for network facility, hardware, and software problems on an after-hours on-call basis
• Monitor system performance and conduct capacity planning to recommend improvements
• Ensure compliance with ANSI, NEC, IEE standards, and corporate safety and accounting requirements
• Identify and evaluate emerging Point to Point/Point to Multipoint Radio Microwave and Fiber technologies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related technical field
• At least 3 years of experience as a Telecommunications or Network Engineer
• Experience with emerging telecommunications tools and technologies
• Strong project management skills, including scheduling, cost tracking, and progress reporting
• Proven ability to plan, manage, and supervise vendor engagements
• Excellent communication and multi-tasking abilities
