Lead Engineer – Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA)

Responsibilities

• Lead Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA) activities for vehicle systems and sub-systems
• Perform and review tolerance stack-up analysis across 1D, 2D, and 3D environments
• Apply GD&T standards (ASME or ISO) across product designs to ensure fit, function, and aesthetics
• Conduct feasibility studies and optimize tolerances to meet functional requirements
• Use advanced tools such as 3DCS, VisVSA, or CETOL for simulation-based validation
• Own dimensional deliverables across vehicle programmes, managing timelines and risks
• Lead root cause analysis of dimensional issues and drive corrective actions
• Collaborate with global design, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams
• Mentor a team of engineers and drive continuous improvement in dimensional analysis practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in dimensional engineering or variation analysis
• Proven experience in an automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier environment
• Strong expertise in GD&T (ASME Y14.5 or ISO standards) and tolerance stack-up analysis
• Hands-on proficiency with dimensional analysis software such as 3DCS, CETOL, or VisVSA
• Deep understanding of Body-in-White, closures, interiors, or vehicle systems
• Knowledge of statistical analysis methods including Monte Carlo and worst-case analysis
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing technical teams and global stakeholders
