Lead Engineer - Contracts

Responsibilities

• Act as the Engineer under FIDIC contracts, ensuring fair and impartial administration between Employer and Contractor
• Administer contractor agreements in compliance with FIDIC procedures and contractual obligations
• Review and certify interim and final payment certificates, variations, claims, and extensions of time (EOT)
• Serve as an independent decision-making authority, issuing objective determinations to minimize disputes
• Provide high-level engineering leadership and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards
• Oversee construction activities and review design submissions for alignment with contractual scope
• Manage and evaluate claims, disputes, and variations with strong commercial awareness
• Provide strategic advice to the Employer regarding contractual risks and mitigation strategies

Requirements

• Minimum 20–25+ years of progressive experience in engineering and contract management
• Proven track record serving as the Engineer (as defined under FIDIC) on major infrastructure or construction projects
• Deep expertise in FIDIC contract forms, including Red Book and Yellow Book
• Extensive experience working within large-scale, complex contractor environments
• Exceptional knowledge of contract law, FIDIC principles, and claims management
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and negotiation skills
• High level of professional integrity and the ability to maintain neutrality
