About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the work of elevator mechanics, apprentices, and facilities workers
  • Perform skilled tasks as a working lead to maintain and repair campus-wide elevator electro/mechanical systems
  • Review and coordinate daily schedules, conduct job site assessments, and develop work estimates
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems and interpret technical wiring diagrams
  • Ensure compliance with State of California Elevator Safety Codes, Fire, and Seismic Safety Codes
  • Participate in the Disaster Initial Response Team and resolve project or customer concerns

Requirements

  • State of California Certified Competent Conveyance Mechanic License
  • Valid California noncommercial Class C Driver's License
  • Extensive knowledge of elevator safety codes and technical trade methods
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and stand, crawl, or stoop for extended periods
  • Ability to distinguish colors and work in various weather conditions
