Lead Electrical Engineer

Starcloud is building a network of data centers in space, starting at kilowatts and scaling to gigawatt capacity. By moving compute into orbit, we tap nearly unlimited solar power and radiate heat straight into the cold of space, escaping the energy and cooling limits that constrain data centers on Earth.

Responsibilities

• Own the electrical architecture including power generation, storage, distribution, conversion, avionics, and grounding
• Lead technical trades for power architecture, battery sizing, and solar array interfaces
• Deliver flight hardware end to end from concept through design, procurement, and launch
• Own electrical testing at board, subsystem, and spacecraft levels
• Build and mentor the electrical engineering team, setting design-review and verification standards
• Partner cross-functionally with mechanical, thermal, software, and manufacturing teams

Requirements

• BS in Electrical, Computer, or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience in design, analysis, and hardware development
• Deep command of power electronics, power distribution, batteries, solar arrays, and EMI/EMC
• Proven track record delivering electrical hardware optimized for reliability and performance
• Ability to manage engineers while remaining deeply hands-on
• Must be a U.S. person (citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual) under ITAR/EAR

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience formally leading an electrical engineering team
• Experience with spacecraft electrical hardware or mission-critical hardware in harsh environments
• Experience with high-power systems (spacecraft, data center, automotive, or grid-scale power)
• Hands-on PCB development and harness fabrication
