Lead Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design, review, and analysis for transmission, distribution, and industrial projects.
• Perform comprehensive power system studies using ETAP, including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash analysis.
• Lead engineering design and review activities for 132kV GIS substations, including SLDs, protection schematics, and equipment layouts.
• Manage and supervise electrical engineering teams throughout project execution.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering interfaces with civil, mechanical, protection, and SCADA teams.
• Ensure all designs comply with IEC, IEEE, and local utility standards and grid codes.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of electrical engineering experience in power transmission and distribution projects.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a lead engineering role.
• Extensive hands-on expertise with ETAP software for power system studies.
• Proven experience with 132kV GIS substations, including design, testing, and commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of IEC and IEEE standards.
• Familiarity with ADNOC Group Specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Power Systems Engineering.
• Experience with major OEM equipment such as Siemens, Hitachi Energy, GE Grid Solutions, Schneider Electric, or ABB.
• Knowledge of IEC 61850 communication protocols.
• Experience in renewable energy grid integration or industrial power systems.
