Lead – Education Practice

Responsibilities

• Shape the strategic agenda for the Education Practice and support business growth across government, philanthropy, and global institutions.
• Provide strategic oversight for large, multi-donor portfolios (USD 10M+), including allocation strategy, funder reporting, and risk management.
• Guide programme design and establish grant governance and end-to-end Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) frameworks.
• Anchor work with public education systems to enable performance management and adaptive strategy.
• Build and deepen relationships with senior decision-makers, including foundations, multilateral organisations, and government stakeholders.
• Represent the practice at national and global forums to build strategic visibility and influence.
• Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team to deliver on practice priorities and project commitments.

Requirements

• 12–18 years of experience in programme design, grant/portfolio management, and stakeholder engagement within the education or social sector.
• Deep understanding of, and experience working with, public education systems (central and/or state governments).
• Breadth of knowledge across education sub-domains, including ECCE, primary, secondary, life skills, and socio-emotional learning.
• Demonstrated experience designing and managing multi-donor, grant-funded programmes.
• Strong understanding of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) frameworks and systems.
• Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education or a related field.
• Prior experience in consulting or with ecosystem organisations such as multilateral or global development institutions.
• Existing network within the philanthropy ecosystem.
