Lead Design Engineer - Infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Monitor and coordinate with design consultants to ensure timely delivery of infrastructure design packages
• Review and verify design submissions including roads, drainage, utilities, and MEP networks
• Identify design gaps, clashes, or non-conformances and issue technical comments
• Ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi authority standards (DOT, ADDC, ADSSC, DM, ADDED, TASAREEH)
• Oversee infrastructure construction works to ensure execution matches approved drawings and specifications
• Conduct regular site inspections and technical audits of infrastructure works
• Review and approve contractor submittals, shop drawings, and material approvals
• Coordinate with the site team on technical queries (RFIs) and design clarifications
• Liaise with NOC and Permitting teams to ensure design submissions are authority-ready
• Provide regular technical reports and design status updates to the Project Director

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in infrastructure engineering in the UAE
• Proven track record in large-scale residential or master development projects in Abu Dhabi
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Valid UAE driving licence
• Excellent command of written and spoken English

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with ICE, ASCE, or equivalent
• Experience with Yas Island-specific authority requirements
• Familiarity with BIM/3D coordination workflows
• Proficiency in Arabic
