Lead Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and deployment of advanced machine learning models to detect and mitigate account takeover (ATO) and scam threats.
• Analyze large volumes of data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies associated with fraudulent activities.
• Design and implement experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of fraud detection systems and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and security operations to translate business requirements into actionable data insights.
• Develop robust data pipelines, algorithms, and tools to support real-time detection and response.
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a data science role with a focus on fraud detection, cybersecurity, or fintech.
• Hands-on experience building machine learning models specifically for Account Takeover (ATO) or scam identification.
• Strong proficiency in Python or R, with the ability to make and justify design decisions in your code.
• Experience working with large datasets and technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or SQL.
• Deep understanding of anomaly detection, supervised/unsupervised learning, and deep learning methods.
• Proficiency with Git for collaboration, including code reviews and managing pull requests.
• Strong statistical analysis skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience mining event logs to identify patterns and associations.
