Lead Data Scientist - Fraud Prevention

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize existing risk models to ensure accuracy and reliability
• Lead the development and deployment of machine learning models and features into production
• Conduct thorough data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies for risk mitigation
• Develop actionable intelligence and insights to inform Fraud Risk Team strategies
• Collaborate with the Fraud Risk Team to understand business processes and risk factors
• Communicate complex data findings effectively to non-technical stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to reduce risk impact on legitimate customers through data-driven interventions
• Document development processes and prepare detailed reports on model performance

Requirements

• Proven track record of deploying machine learning models from scratch (preprocessing, feature engineering, evaluation, and monitoring)
• Strong Python knowledge and the ability to read through Java code
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams on services
• Experience with statistical analysis and strong presentation skills
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to refine complex problem statements
• A strong product mindset and ability to work independently in cross-functional environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with unsupervised algorithms
• Prior experience in the fraud domain and a strong understanding of fraud detection techniques
